2023 Right-of-Way Spray Notice:

Mountain Electric Cooperative will be using

AquaNeat/Polaris AC Complete chemical treatments on vegetation to help control undesirable vegetation, primarily trees, in and along the cooperative’s power line right-of-way. A complete list of the chemicals used can be found below.

Areas that will be sprayed June–August (depending upon weather conditions):

Avery County areas: None.

Roan Mountain areas include the following community areas that branch off Hwy 19E: Simerly Creek (including Unicoi County areas), Tiger Creek, Buck Mountain, and Shell Creek. Burbank and Cove Creek will also be affected.

Mountain City areas include Trade and Neva communities and Jackson Lane and Lumpkin Branch areas.
