PLANNED POWER OUTAGE SCHEDULED FOR MAY 9TH IN PARTS OF NC AREA

Attention NC customers:

Mountain Electric will soon be completing a key piece of our transmission line in the Banner Elk and Linville area of the system. The completion of this line will result in better service and reliability of our grid system. To complete this line, MEC will require an outage on the transmission line. The outage is scheduled to last approximately 9 hours. The work will begin on Friday, May 9th around 11:30 PM and should be completed in the morning hours of May 10th. The outage will primarily affect the Sugar Mountain , Linville,  Jonas Ridge, Pineola and Land Harbour communities that are served by the Linville Substation. The Newland area will see momentary outages of 10-15 minutes at 2 separate times throughout the process. We will strive to keep as many customers on as possible. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we progress into improving our system infrastructure.

This will NOT affect Beech Mtn. Cranberry, and Banner Elk substations.

Thank you,

Mountain Electric Engineering
