MEC bill statements get a new look
You may notice your bill statement looks different this month. Effective November 1st , the MEC customer charge and the TVA Monthly Energy Adjustment charges that have previously been included in the top line of the bill charges has been separated out. Why, you ask? MEC wanted to help customers understand the bill charges by listing them separately. The MEC customer charge has always been charged to each customer connected to our system and is based on the size of your meter. The TVA Total Monthly Energy Adjustment is the cost paid directly to TVA to cover their fluctuating expenses associated with generating electricity each month. Please note that these charges are not new fees, they are simply being itemized on the bill statements to help you understand where your electric dollars go.
