Who Qaulifies for the Program?
Any homeowner in MEC service area with an acceptable credit report. For a manufacturer home the loan must be in the landowner's name.

Financing available
A simple loan application will be taken. 8% financing is available for qualified customers. Over-the-phone application can be made by calling 423-727-1805 or 423-727-1811. Contractor list and inspections are available even if you don’t finance.

Questions to Ask Contractors

• What type of warranty do you offer?
• How much does your 10 year parts and labor warranty cost?
• Tell me about the efficiency of your proposed units.
• What type system do you propose? Package or split?
• Where will you set the compressor? Air Handler?
• Where do you propose to locate the thermostat? Floor registers? Return grill?
• Do I need more insulation in the attic or under the floor?

Choosing a Contractor
We will supply you with a list of approved contractors. We suggest you call at least 2 or 3 and obtain written proposals with brand, model, efficiency, and warranty details with the contractor you wish to use.

Steps to Follow

• Call 423-727-1800, or 888-721-9111 and ask for John or Brenda for information and application. Supply us with a copy of your property deed.
• Call the contractors from our QCN list to obtain quotes.
• Sign a contract with the contractor of choice after obtaining your approval number.
• Upon completion of the installation, the contractor will request a final inspection.
• MEC will inspect and pay the contractor.
• Your monthly repayment will appear on the next bill.
• There will be a one-time $45 processing and filing fee placed on your first heat pump payment.
